The most important tourist sites in Paris


Because Paris is a city and the capital of France, Paris is also important city for more than 2000 years. The city, which is dubbed by many names, including "City of Love" and "City of Lights", Paris is today one of the leading centers in the world for business, fashion, entertainment, and art and culture. Just the mere mention of Paris conjures up images of world renowned landmarks, museums and cathedrals in the city. Here is an overview of the major tourist attractions in Paris:
 

Place de la Concorde

At the eastern end of the Avenue des Champs-no Place de la Concorde, the largest square in Paris with excellent prospects in each direction. This was the stage for the French king Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette and many others who guillotined during the French Revolution. The library includes a wide public, and the National Museum of Modern Art, the largest museum of modern art in Europe, and the library, a cinema and a panoramic terrace. Library occupies the first three floors of the building, while located in the permanent collection of the Museum of floors 4 and 5. Used on the first floor and top of the big shows. Center is named after Georges Pompidou, president of France 1969-1974 who commissioned the building.

 

Museum d'Orsay

Began to do for art lovers, it is known that the Musée d'Orsay for housing in the world of Impressionist paintings. Known in English for the Luxembourg Gardens, this park is the second largest public park in Paris. Here visitors can stroll or spend a leisurely stroll among the beautiful lawns, and formal gardens and fruit orchards that characterized many of the statues and fountains art. For fun and sport, and there are jogging paths, tennis courts and fitness equipment. Children can play in a huge stadium, riding ponies, watching puppet theater and sail model boats in the pond.


 

White basilica

One of the most noticeable landmarks in Paris is the Basilica of the Sacred Heart White. Located at the highest point in the city on the hill of Montmartre, this stunning church draws a lot of tourists each year to see the architecture of marble and exquisite interior. And offers prizes for visitors to watch the round of golden mosaics, and stained-glass windows, one of the largest clocks in the world.



 

Notre Dame Cathedral

The journey to Paris can be complete without a visit to the world-famous Notre Dame Cathedral. Stands more than 400 feet (120 meters) with two lofty towers and tapered, and this is a wonderful example of the upper church of French Gothic architecture. Round in this masterpiece of the 13th century, allows visitors to enjoy the stunning rose windows, Gothic sculptures, carvings and beautiful collection of relics.


 

Arc de Triomphe

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Paris, the Arc de Triomphe was built in 1806 to commemorate the victory battles of Napoleon Bonaparte. Stands 164 feet and 148 feet (50 by 45 meters) wide, the complex features of the arc inscriptions depicting the victorious battles and the names engraved many of those who died fighting for the emperor. Under the arch is the tomb of the unknown soldier from the First World War.

 

Louvre
